CenterState Bank Fulfills Orphan’s Christmas Wishes

DADE CITY, Fla. (October 31, 2012) – CenterState Bank’s Dade City branch will sponsor their 4th Annual Christmas with the Orphans event on December 18, 2012. Each year, CenterState and additional sponsors support teen orphans from Florida Baptist Children’s Home by fulfilling their Christmas wishes.

This year, more than 20 orphans will have their wish lists fulfilled. The children are invited to the bank on December 18 for a Christmas party held in their honor, where their sponsors will present them with their gifts.

“Many gifts get donated to the younger children at the Home during the Holiday season, but often the older children get overlooked,” says Event Coordinator Tracey Green, Florida Baptist Children’s Home. “CenterState Bank’s generous sponsorships help the teens at the Home receive the same holiday cheer.”

If you are interested in sponsoring an orphan this Christmas, or donating to the 4th Annual Christmas with the Orphans party, please call 352-521-0715 for a child’s wish list or to make a donation.

CenterState Bank in Vero Beach becomes drop-off for Hibiscus Children’s Center Back Pack Fairy

VERO BEACH — Random acts of kindness are ways in which CenterState Bank displays small gestures of caring within the community.

The bank's latest donation is in the form of a $250 check to the Back Pack Fairy program, to help underwrite school supplies for resident children of the Hibiscus Children’s Center of Vero Beach. This is a volunteer project now in its seventh year and is led by Anabelle Greene, 14, an 8th grade student at St. Edwards School.

“The bank is pleased to support this volunteer program," said Diana Walker, CenterState Bank branch manager. "All children this time of year prepare for return to school with backpacks filled to the brim with varied school supplies. We are hoping our check will help supply some of those needs to the children at Hibiscus Children’s Center and we ask the community to join us.”

CenterState Bank has allocated space for people to drop off their donations for the Back Pack Fairy program, to help underwrite school supplies for resident children of the Hibiscus Children’s Center.

A suggested supply list could include backpacks, notebooks and filler paper, binders, pencils, markers, pens, ruler, highlighters, protractors, compasses, index cards and composition books.

A completely filled backpack typically costs between $60 to $75 and all donations are tax deductible. For donation drop-offs, visit CenterState Bank located on State Road 60 (westbound) and 9th Avenue, Vero Beach.

The Hibiscus Children’s Center is a safe haven for those children who have been victims of abuse, be it physical, verbal, emotional or any other form of unsafe living conditions.

Donna Clements, educational liaison/volunteer coordinator of Hibiscus Children’s Village, shares that nearly 40 children are residing at their facility. Over the course of the school year they will be serving about 90.

Even though children are now in the process of returning to school, easy access to school supplies is always in need at the Children’s Village. Donations at any time are appreciated.

For more information, contact Diana Walker at 772 299-6860, Donna Clements at 772 978-9313, ext 334, or Anabelle Greene at 772 766-4566. For donation dropoffs, visit CenterState Bank on State Road 60 (westbound) and 9th Avenue, Vero Beach.
